We are located in a quiet, pine-covered setting on the shore of beautiful Big
Mantrap Lake 16 miles northeast of Park Rapids, Minnesota, 35 miles from Walker/Leach
Lake, 40 miles from Bemidji and 22 miles from Itasca
State Park . We have ended our resort and
bed & breakfast business, and are remodeling our Lodge for year around living. We will
be moving into it in late spring 2005. We are selling our current home and the adjacent
guest cabin as a single unit. This property has its own docks (two) and boathouse, 160
feet of shore, a 32x32 garage/utility building, and will include use of the
fine (no drop-off) swimming beach that is located on the Lodge property. We will continue
to rent our large cabin (on the Lodge property), but only by the month.
Big Mantrap is a large (1770
acre), clear, "rambling" lake with many bays, several islands and miles of
untouched shore. It is one of Minnesota's outstanding Muskellunge fisheries and has
excellent fishing for Pan fish, Bass, and Northern Pike. The lake is also ideal for
viewing wild life from boat or canoe. Ducks and blue heron dot the shore and bald eagles
nest along it. Deer come down to the shore to feed; loons and their young frequent the
bays; beaver, muskrat and otter may be seen. A blue heron rookery is a short hike away.
Excellent restaurants, horseback riding, several fine golf courses and miles of paved
biking trails are nearby.
The combined home and guest cabin are for sale as a single unit. Contact Lynn Kuznia at (763) 525-1090 or (612) 991-1817, or via pprealty.com
